Training Date and Time: February 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm
Length of time: 3 hours
Location: Online webinar
Registration Fee: $80 (MYgroup providers use promo code for a discount)

Training Description: This training provides clinicians with a foundational understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and its six core processes: acceptance, cognitive defusion, present-moment awareness, self as context, values, and committed action as they apply to anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and relational distress. Participants will explore how ACT both complements and differs from traditional CBT approaches and learn to apply ACT-based strategies to reduce symptoms and enhance psychological flexibility. Emphasis is placed on integrating ACT principles into therapeutic work to support healthier attachment patterns, emotional regulation, boundary-setting, and values-based behaviors within interpersonal and family systems. Through experiential exercises and mindfulness-based techniques, participants will practice ACT interventions that promote present-moment engagement, clarity of values, and meaningful, committed action in clients’ daily lives and relationships. Strategies and interventions will discuss how the use of ACT can be incorporated within EAP and other brief service models

Training Level: Intermediate

Learning Objectives:
1. Develop a practical understanding of ACT’s six core processes and their application to anxiety, depression, trauma related symptoms, and relational distress within EAP and other brief service models.
2. Differentiate how ACT complements and differs from traditional CBT and apply ACT-based strategies to increase psychological flexibility and reduce symptoms related to mood symptoms, trauma-related responses, communication difficulties, and family conflict
3. Implement brief, targeted ACT strategies that reduce symptom interference and improve day-to-day functioning, work performance, and relationship effectiveness in clients presenting with acute or situational stressors.
4. Practice brief ACT-based experiential and mindfulness techniques appropriate for single-session or limited-session formats to enhance present-moment engagement, clarify values, and support committed action between visits.
