MYgroup FAQs
I don’t have an EAP but rather an SAP, FRAP, MAP, or HAP. What’s the difference? Am I in the right place?
You are in the right place! MYgroup has specialized assistance programs for different groups, like students (SAP), first responders (FRAP), members (MAP), and healthcare providers (HAP). You’ll call in to the same MYgroup and you’ll be connected with services that are tailored to you. Likewise, you have access to MY Portal and the many features available there.
Where do I find my organization’s access code?
You can get your organization’s code from your HR manager or school administrator. MAP participants can reach out to your membership organization to get your code, or give us a call at 800.633.3353. You’ll need your organization code to log in to the MYgroup portal, called MY Portal.
How do I get connected to counseling services?
It’s easy to get started. You can request a referral to an EAP provider in either of these ways:
- Give us a call Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM and speak directly with a clinical care partner
- Submit a request through our website, and a clinical care partner will get back to you within 24 business hours
Will my employer or school know if I contact the EAP?
No. Your use of EAP services is confidential. Your employer or school administrator will not be notified if you call or use services. The only exceptions are situations required by law, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse.
How much do counseling sessions cost?
EAP counseling sessions are provided at no cost to you. The number of sessions available may vary depending on your organization’s plan.
What’s the difference between EAP and long-term counseling?
EAP counseling is designed to be short-term and solution-focused, helping you address immediate concerns and get support quickly.
If you need longer-term support, your clinical care partner will work to connect you with an EAP provider who may also accept your insurance if you continue beyond your EAP-covered sessions.
What if I don’t hear back from the provider?
If you’ve left a message and haven’t heard back within two business days, please reach out to us. We will follow up with the provider or connect you with someone new.
